The ping is the most important aspect, yes.

Basically, the ping being a low, dynamic number means that it is being recorded live, whereas if it were being recorded from a SourceTV demo, it would be 9999 or something similar.

Correct.

SourceTV demos themselves (or player point of view demos) are the only reliable way to detect an aimbotter.

By extension, yes, but without SourceTV, the ref couldn't be watching.

It's also best if a SourceTV demo is recorded so that it can be reviewed later by others.

The sourceTV demo will just cycle through each player, although I am yet to set how it spectates.....

SourceTV records a demo through every players perspective. When you view it back you can watch whichever player you want.
